When you get to Cochin, you’ll be met by staff and transferred to nearby resort Rasa Gurukul. You’ll have the rest of the day to recover from your travel. Choose to wander the resort or get a delightful Ayurvedic massage.
The first part of your guided trekking adventure begins with a lovely drive to Munnar. Sit back and relax as you ride through lush farmland, stunning waterfalls, and panoramic greenery. Once you reach Munnar you’ll have time to settle into the hotel before you head out for a guided tour of the spice plantation surrounding you.
Your guide will pick you up and drive you to the trailhead at the beginning of the Lechmi Hills trek. From there you’ll have a 4-hour trek through the beautiful landscape before returning for lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll go on another hike to explore a tea plantation before retiring to the hotel for dinner.
Ready for a challenge? Rise early and head by car to the Meesapulimala Base Camp where you’ll begin your trek to the 2,600 m Kolukkumalai Peak. From there you’ll hike down to Rhodo Mansion to finish the trek before driving back to your hotel.
Today you’ll have another scenic drive as you head to Topstation to begin another guided trek at Pampadumchola before taking a short drive to Vattavada for lunch and then more trekking on to Yellapetty. The route takes you near clusters of mountain villages and shola forests. From Yellapetty you’ll be driven back to your hotel for the evening.
This trek begins immediately after you check-out of your hotel as you head out to the west ridge peak. You’ll stop along the way to enjoy a pre-packed lunch. All your luggage will be traveling separately to the next hotel. In the afternoon you’ll trek down from the peak to Tahr Mountain camp at 1,700 m. Later you’ll be driven back to your accommodation in a 4x4.
If you didn’t like a challenge, you wouldn’t have come to India, right? Today you’ll be trekking from Pooppara to Mathikettanchola National Park, and from there through a cloud forest and on to Bodi Peak which tops out at 2100m. Following your hike, a jeep will return you to the hotel for the evening.
Recover from the last few days of challenging treks with a long scenic drive to Periyar Sanctuary. Once you reach the park, you’ll check-in to the resort before taking a guided tour of a spice farm in the afternoon.
Prepare for a full day of trekking through the Sanctuary, and don’t forget to watch for all the amazing wildlife! You’ll be following a guided program put together by the forest department to help you maximize your time in the park. At 7:30 am, you’ll board your bus for the trailhead. From there you’ll register, collect your equipment and food for the journey, and begin the trek. This trek is suitable for fit hikers age 13 and up. There will be about 12 km of hiking and 2 km of bamboo rafting before returning to your hotel for the evening.
All aboard for adventure! Take another scenic drive to Alleppey where you’ll find an exclusive houseboat awaiting you. Hop aboard and enjoy an amazing cruise through the backwaters of Kerala while eating fresh-cooked meals prepared for you right there on the boat.
Wake and enjoy breakfast on the houseboat before you check-out and head for the beach paradise at Marari. When you arrive, you’ll have time to get settled in your new accommodation before taking the rest of the day to explore the beach and resort.
Is there such a thing as too much beach? It doesn’t seem likely. You’ll have the entire day to relax amidst this tropical paradise. And if by some chance you tire of the beach, you can always head over to see the traditional fishing villages and discover the peace and satisfaction of the simple life. Or if you want an even more authentic local experience, head to the temple for something totally different.
From Marari, you’ll drive to Cochin for some sightseeing. Join your guide as you tour the old colonial areas of Cochin.
The tour ends after breakfast and you’ll be driven back to the Cochin International Airport.
