The Elmley Castle Walk is a scenic adventure in The Cotswolds AONB that will lead you uphill for some beautiful views of the surrounding Worcestershire countryside. While out on the trail, you will make your way across some open countryside to visit the village of Great Comberton before climbing up the forested hillside to the southwest for some lovely views of rolling green hills and charming cottages. While parts of this walk are physically demanding, the excellent views are more than enough of a reward.
Route Description for Elmley Castle Walk
Although challenging in certain areas, the Elmley Castle Walk is an awesome Cotswolds adventure that will take you through some rugged terrain for exceptional views overlooking the beautiful landscapes and charming cottages that make this area so special. Setting out from the car park, you will make your way to the northwest, walking across the picturesque countryside and navigating the fields to arrive at the lovely little village of Great Comberton. From here, head back to the southeast before following the trail south to begin the steep climb up the wooded hillside. Upon reaching the top of the hill, you will enjoy some beautiful views that sweep across the surrounding landscape and include the charming village of Elmley Castle and its stone cottages below. After taking in the views, carefully descend the southeast slope of the hill and follow the trail across the fields on the return to the starting point of the walk.

To reach the trailhead for the Elmley Castle Walk from Ashton under Hill, head north on Elmley Road for 5.3 km, where you will find the car park on the left.
