    The Sapperton Cotswold Walk follows the Thames and Severn Canal as it meanders through the countryside between Frampton Mansell and Stroud. You’ll enjoy walking through quiet woodland and rolling hills as you pass by charming Cotswolds villages. When you reach the midpoint at Stroud, you can take some time to explore the shops and galleries in this historic town. Or stop in at a café for some refreshments before you start the return walk.

    Route Description for Sapperton Cotswold Walk

    The Sapperton Cotswold Walk, in Gloucestershire, is a beautiful half-day walk between charming Cotswolds villages. You’ll walk along the scenic Thames and Severn Canal as it winds its way through the countryside.

    Starting from Frampton Mansell, you’ll come across Chalford, Brimscombe, and Bowbridge, as well as a few charming places to stop and enjoy some refreshments as you watch the waters of the canal. Spend some time exploring the quaint town of Stroud before you begin the return walk.

    Getting to the Sapperton Cotswold Walk Trailhead

    To get to the start of the Sapperton Cotswold Walk, you’ll want to make your way to Frampton Mansell. There is a bus stop at St Luke’s Church, and you can find parking in the village. Follow Main Street from St Luke’s Church and turn left when you reach The Crown Inn. Follow the road to where it bends sharply to the left, and you’ll find the start of the path that allows you to continue straight.
