Extended Lakes Walk
The extended Lakes Walk is a charming hike in Crans Montana that leads you past nine lakes, ponds, and reservoirs in the region. This longer version of a popular walking route invites you to explore the plateau, passing from one body of water to the next and stopping at terraces along the way. This is a pleasant adventure that all can enjoy.

Route Description for Extended Lakes Walk
Setting out from the trailhead, the Lakes Walk will take you west through the resort, making a short southward detour to a scenic viewpoint, before backtracking and arriving at the edge of Lac d’Icogne. From here, the trail will loop around to the southeast on the way to Etang des Miriouges. From here, you will make your way northeast to Etang de la Moubra, before passing by Etang Blanc and Etang Long.
Now heading north, you will continue through the resort and past the golf course, turning east toward Etang Grenon. Backtracking and now heading to the northwest, you will eventually arrive at Lac de Chermignon, before returning to the starting point of the walk.
Getting to the Extended Lakes Walk Trailhead
To reach Crans-Montana by car, take the exit of the A9 motorway (Rhône motorway) called "Sierre ouest". At the motorway exit, turn left and follow the signs for "Sierre". At the roundabout, turn right. Continue for 500 m, then at the entrance to Sierre, turn left following the signs for "Crans-Montana". The journey takes about 20 minutes. Once you arrive in Crans-Montana, follow the signs for Etang Long car park.
