Pew Tor and Heckwood Tor Circular Walk
The Pew Tor and Heckwood Tor Circular Walk is a fairly quick adventure near the western edge of Dartmoor National Park that will take you uphill across several tors for sweeping views of the surrounding area. Along the undulating trail, you will traverse the Feather, Heckwood, Pew, and Sampford tors, all of which offer a good sightline across the surrounding hills. This route does feature a small amount of uphill trekking; however, it is more than suitable for a fun family outing.

Route Description for Pew Tor and Heckwood Tor Circular Walk
A fun journey across the hilly landscape of Dartmoor, the Pew Tor and Heckwood Tor Circular Walk is perfectly suitable for families and beginner walkers that want to experience some beautiful views of the park and surrounding Devon countryside. Setting out from the car park, you will head to the south along the hillside and climb up to the summit of Pew Tor, enjoying lovely views across the farmland to the west. From here, you will head to the northeast across Heckwood Tor before turning to the north on the return leg across the hillscape back to the car park.
Getting to the Pew Tor and Heckwood Tor Circular Walk Trailhead
To reach the trailhead for the Pew Tor and Heckwood Tor Circular Walk from Tavistock, drive east on Mount Tavy Road/B3357 for 4.8 km and turn left to enter the car park.
