South Zeal and Little Hound Tor Circular Walk
The South Zeal and Little Hound Tor Circular Walk is a great excursion for anyone that appreciates beautiful landscape views and ancient history. While out walking the trail, you will traverse the rugged terrain of the moor and experience sweeping views of Dartmoor National Park before making your return along the Cosdon Stone Rows, a series of Bronze Age stone monuments arranged in neat rows. This trail is often muddy, so don’t forget your wellies!

Route Description for South Zeal and Little Hound Tor Circular Walk
Walking the South Zeal and Little Hound Circular is a popular adventure in Dartmoor National Park, particularly for those with an interest in ancient historical sites. Setting out from the trailhead in South Zeal, you will make your way southwest and begin climbing up the steep hillside, traversing the rugged terrain of the moor as you cross over Cosdon Beacon and Little Hound Tor. After taking in the spectacular views of Dartmoor, you will head to the northeast on the return leg of the walk that will bring you back downhill and past the Bronze Age Site of the Cosdon Stone Rows.
Getting to the South Zeal and Little Hound Tor Circular Walk Trailhead
To get to the trailhead for the South Zeal and Little Hound Tor Circular Walk from Sticklepath, drive east toward Oak Tree Park for 0.2 km and turn left to continue on for 0.5 km. Make a right here, followed by an immediate left to arrive at the trailhead in 0.3 km.
