Route Description for Belmar Park Hike
Though we love adventuring the burrows of Denver city, it is nice to have a natural escape. The Belmar Park and hike is the perfect relaxing nature walk within the city limits that boasts views of wildlife, aspen trees, and sights of the shimmering lake. This wonderful walk is perfect as a lunchtime de-stressor or a weekend post-market adventure. Either way, the networks of trails present endless opportunities, but today we are going to show you our favorite route.
Beginning from the trailhead and parking lot at Lakewood’s Heritage Centre, track the Belmar Park Loop Trail. At the intersection keep straight, hiking along the perimeter trail. This path will guide you over a boardwalk and to a stunning overlook of the lake where you will likely see plenty of geese and ducks. Continue north along the lake’s perimeter, and at the next junction keep left, trekking east between the lake and a small pond. Again, follow the lake’s shoreline, curving south. Once you trek along the west side of the lake, take the path to the Gazebo, passing the amphitheater and continuing east all the way to the trail’s end.
