Route Description for Castle and Meadow Trails Loop
The Castle and Meadow Trails Loop is a charming nature walk. Suitable for children and novice hikers alike, this is the perfect adventure to blow off some steam and get out into the fresh air. Hike amongst wildlife and revel in the beauty of the Colorado wilderness. As you travel through the arid terrain be mindful of rattlesnakes, keeping an eye and ear out for them.
Departing from the trailhead, the Castle and Meadow Trails Loop follows the Castle Trail southeast. Trek down the route through a meadow sparsely lined with towering pines. Not long after your departure from the trailhead, you will encounter an intersection. Here, keep left along the Castle Trail. This path will guide you through a lush meadow prior to delivering you to the John Walker Castle Ruins. Explore the hollow ruins of the old ranch. From here, track south along the Meadow Trail and at the next intersection, keep right along the Meadow Trail.
Hike through the grassy terrain, keeping an eye out for wildlife as you trek. Soon, this route will guide you back to a junction with the Castle Trail. At this point, simply retrace your footing along the path back to the trailhead.

The Castle and Meadow Trails Loop departs from the western trailhead off Mount Falcon Road.
