Switzer Wash Trail via Foxglenn Trail is a short but sweet hike in Flagstaff. This 4.5 km hike begins in a great family park (picnic after the hike, anyone?) and travels along a creek, then through a scenic open field with trees and mountains to see in the distance. This is a perfect way to get outside with family and the dogs. Expect light traffic on this trail.

Route Description for Switzer Wash Trail via Foxglenn Trail
The hike to Switzer Wash Trail via Foxglenn Trail is a wonderful family-friendly route that begins in a city park before leading you out into a pretty, open area with views of the forest and the hills in the distance. The hike is easy enough for all and is dog-friendly. Consider packing a picnic if you want to spend some time in the park once you’re done hiking.
Walk carefully in the winter when the trail can become icy and muddy.
From the trailhead, hike past the park on Foxglenn Trail and stay right to follow the Rio de Flag. You’ll follow it for a few turns before staying right to hike away from the river and towards S 4th Street. At the fork with Switzer Wash Trail, stay right. The route continues to its end where it meets S 4th Street. From here, turn around and retrace your steps to the trailhead.
