Route Description for Bradley Lake Trail

The Bradley Lake Trail would make an excellent addition to your hiking to-do list. This wonderful trek explores a swathe of wilderness below the Teton Mountains, occupied by shrub oak communities, lush woodlands, boulder fields, and glacial pools. Though unlikely due to the route’s popularity, bear encounters are popular along this route, so make sure at least one person in your party has bear spray and knows how to use it properly. Note the Grand Teton National Park charges an entrance fee; refer to the NPS website for additional information.

Your amazing adventure to Bradley Lake begins from the Bradley-Taggart Trailhead. Setting out from here, you will be guided northwest along the Taggart Lake Loop Trail. Gradually climbing through the meadowlands, you will be granted impressive views of the Tetons above. When the junction with the Beaver Creek Trail is confronted, turn right and meander this route over Taggart Creek before reconnecting with the Taggart Lake Loop Trail. Now meandering mostly beneath the tree canopy, you will ultimately turn right onto the Bradley Lake Trail up to an overlook of the charming glacial lake framed by the craggy ridges of the Teton Mountains.

From here, veer left and merge onto the Valley Trail, which will eventually trace the shoreline of Taggart Lake. On the lake’s south end, you will reconnect with the Taggart Lake Loop Trail—hike this path back to the trailhead.

Check out the Taggart Lake and Bradley Lake Trail for a variation of this route.
