Route Description for Huntoon Point via Artist Point Trail
Head from Artist Point, a popular overlook with a great view of the surrounding feature, up to Huntoon Point on this hike. See more lakes than you can count and admire nearby Mount Herman, Slate Mountain, Barometer Mountain, and Mount Baker on clear days. This is an easy trip suitable for all skill levels.
Expect moderate traffic on this trail, which can become heavy on nice weekends. While you won’t have the place to yourself, it’s still a worthwhile trip.
From Artist Point, take the trail that heads up the ridge. It’s not far to Huntoon Point, so take your time on the trail. Once you reach the point, look around in all directions at the panoramic views. You can see Mount Baker in all its glory and a sea of peaks in every direction. From the point, you’ll need to retrace your steps back to the trailhead.
