The Alton Abbey to New Copse to Wivelroad Circular Walk takes you on a lovely, relatively flat stroll that’s manageable for all skill levels. There is one stile to navigate throughout the path. This route can also get super muddy during wetter months!
Beginning at the car park, follow the pathway and markers, and climb a slight slope. When you reach the top, you will find the byway. Here, you will navigate the stile and continue down the path to the right behind the trees.
Going into the woodland, follow the path, and you will come out in between two trees. From here, turn right and head up towards a gate and follow the path left. As you move along, take in the views of the countryside, and you will find yourself back at the car park where you began your journey as this is a circular path.
Getting to the Alton Abbey to New Copse to Wivelrod Circular Walk Trailhead
To get to the Alton Abbey to New Copse to Wivelroad Circular Walk from Alton, take High Street and Lenten Street to Basingstoke Road/B3349. After 1.0 km, continue on Basingstoke Road. Take Medstead Road to Abbey Road, and in 4.2 km, arrive at your destination.
