Route Description for Cam Boh, Picture Rocks, and Ironwood Forest Trail Loop
The Cam Boh, Picture Rocks, and Ironwood Forest Trail Loop is a scenic hike in Saguaro National Park West, revered for its many, many huge saguaros. This hike gives you a great view of Picture Rock and a bit of a leg workout as you make your way through the sand of the washes. It’s overall an easy hike, but bring a little extra water since you’ll be working a touch harder due to the footing in some parts.
This hike begins from the parking area off W Picture Rocks Road. Trails depart from both sides of the road, but you’ll be heading south. The trail soon splits. Our route goes counterclockwise, so stay right onto Cam Boh Trail. Take a left at the fork and hike through the Prophency Wash. Stay left as you round the bottom of the loop through the Picture Rocks Wash, then take a left in front of Picture Rocks onto Ringtail Trail. This will lead you back to the trailhead.
