Route Description for Grizzly Giant Loop Trail
Immerse yourself in a sea of sequoias along the Grizzly Giant Loop Trail. This enchanting trail guides adventurers past and through the ancient trees. Attracting thousands of visitors each year, you will likely be sharing the path with like-minded enthusiasts excited to discover the grove. Note that there is no parking at the trailhead, so visitors are required to park at the Mariposa Grove Welcome Plaza and take the free shuttle or walk to the trailhead. Yosemite National Park charges an entrance fee, check out the NPS website for more information.
Embark on your adventure along the Grizzly Giant Loop Trail from the trailhead off Mariposa Grove Road. From here, head northeast along the Big Trees Loop Trail, before merging left onto the Grizzly Giant Loop Trail. Enjoy views of the looming sequoias as you venture through the grove, and you will soon cross over Mariposa Grove Road. Continue hiking the Grizzly Giant Loop Trail to the Grizzly Giant Tree, the largest sequoia in the grove. Take some time to revel in its grandeur, then wander north up to the California Tunnel Tree.
Wander through the base of the giant sequoia before the route diverts west. Meander along the magical path and veer left at the next junction. Navigate the winding track south and follow this route all the way back to the trailhead.
