Route Description for Colquitz River Trail
Start the Colquitz River Trail bike ride from Hyacinth Park, right by the Swan Lake Creek. From there, set out on a gravel trail, following the river into the Panama Flats. Continue, until you can hop on the Colquitz River Trail, following signs. It's a wide gravel path that is used by walkers, families and cyclists. Peddle onwards, passing through both Copley West and East Park, weaving directly beside the river as well. When you pop out at Mann Ave. turn left and go along the road, through the intersection with Wilkinson Rd. From there continue straight and hop onto the Glendale Trail. This starts out paved for a little while then turns to gravel. It goes through Camosun College and passes by a small lake. Shortly afterwards, you will come out from the gravel onto Elk Rd. Elk Rd. will deposit you at Interurban Rd., which you will cross and continue onto the Interurban Rail Trail. This is an old road that is now only used for local traffic and cyclists. It's mostly gravel. After trailing a way, you will descend into Todd Flats, where you find the Red Barn Market. They have outdoor benches and make excellent sandwiches for an indulgent lunch. This is a great place to end the ride if you can arrange for a pick-up.Getting to the Colquitz River Trail Trailhead
