Take 10 days to explore Lithuania from capital to coast
Lithuania has more to discover than most people know, and the 10-Day Walking Tour of Lithuania allows you either the freedom of a self-guided tour or the structure of a guided tour to see it for yourself. This tour takes you from the historic capital of Vilnius to the Baltic Sea.
Explore medieval castles and fortresses, sip coffee in charming cafes, walk the streets of quaint fishing towns, and dip your feet in the welcoming Baltic Sea- all in one tour! This 10-day experience is a snapshot of life in many corners of Lithuania, and you just might not want to leave at the end. Come discover the 10-Day Walking Tour of Lithuania!
Once you arrive in Vilnius, you’ll be taken to your hotel to settle in. Take a walk around the old town, or enjoy a welcome drink with your guide if you chose the guided tour.
Good morning! After breakfast, head out to explore a regional park in Vilnius. You’ll ride the trail to Pavilniai Regional Park, a protected area that includes a 65m rock formation in the river valley. Rock formations 20,000 years old can be seen here on an easy hike.
Start the day with a short train ride to the cozy medieval town of Trakai, surrounded by picturesque lakes and forests. Trakai is the historical capital of Lithuania and its beauty is renowned the country over.
Long hike: 5 hours, 15km
Head west today towards Klaipeda, getting a glimpse into rural Lithuanian life on the train ride. Once you arrive, you can enjoy a welcome drink and some time to unwind.
Begin your adventures today with a ferry ride to Smiltyne, where you’ll walk a loop around the northernmost part of the Curonian Spit. Pass fishermen’s shops, farmsteads, and old shipping ports. You can stop into the sea museum or aquarium if you’d like before crossing over to the lagoon side of the spit.
After breakfast, drive to Juodkrante for another hiking day. You’ll walk around Amber Bay, learning about the local flora and fauna and seeing the craftsmanship of local artists in the weathervane gallery.
Walk through a glorious old forest, cresting the Hill of Witches to learn about the folklore of this place. Watch for the cormorant colony here- it’s the largest in Europe! In the evening, you can relax at the local beach.
This morning, you’ll be taken to the Grey Dunes, a picturesque trail in the Nagliai Nature Reserve. Hike south along the Curonian lagoon to Preila, where you can eat a picnic lunch under a gorgeous lighthouse.
Today you’ll walk from Preila to Nida, visiting Vecekrugas, the highest dune in the Curonian spit, for panoramic views. There are lots of other hills you can hike up for views along the way if you’d like to.
When you arrive in Nida, check out the civil airfield, where you can walk on the runway.
For your final walking day, you’ll enjoy the beauty of Nida at a leisurely pace. Visit the town centre, the Parnidis dune, and the stunning lighthouse. When you’re done walking, you’ll be able to lay back by the Baltic Sea and soak up some sun.
Getting up off the sand in Nida is going to be hard, but it’s your final day of the tour. You can opt for a transfer back to Vilnius or Klaipeda, or book some additional days here if you’d like more time.

I’ve been using 10A route guides for a while, but had never booked a tour. My wife and I booked a self-guided hike in Greece and were so impressed with how we were able navigate the route without a guide with the detailed and easy to follow itinerary. We enjoy travelling independently, and 10A made that happen.

I’ve adventured around a lot of Canada and the US, but I’ve always wanted to explore other parts of the world. I felt a bit scared before booking my trip to Israel, but my conversations with the team at 10Adventures helped ease any worry. I can’t wait to explore more of the world!

Travel companies have had to go through a lot during the pandemic but 10Adventures were super flexible and accommodating nonetheless. I had to cancel my tour in France due to the pandemic. 10Adventures was great and let me reschedule for a later date!

Whenever I’m looking for my next adventure 10Adventures never fails. Their routes all over England are my main go to for exploring and I have only had great experiences booking both guided and self-guided trips in Europe and South America with them. I am looking into Africa next.

I just got back from backpacking in the Sierra Nevada, and WOW. What an unreal journey! The alpine meadows, waterfalls, and the lakeside camping spot were memorable highlights! I wonder what other tours 10Adventures has to offer. That one went so well that I am now convinced I need to book another!

I'm not a big fan of traveling because of my fear of flying, but my girlfriend convinced me to go on the Aurora Borealis Tour in the Yukon. I will never forget the mesmerizing northern lights. Such a romantic (and cold) getaway. I would highly recommend it.
