Arriving in Bali you will be transferred from the airport to Ubud. On the way, you will leave the bustling streets of Kuta and pass rice fields, Balinese temples and small craft villages before arriving in Ubud.
Your 9-day adventures kicks off today with a spiritual tour of Ubud where you’ll be introduced to the spiritual sights of Bali in depth. The tour will start with creating an offering, called Canang in Bali. This offering will be brought to the temples to ask permission of the gods to enter the temples. Your guide will explain about the offering and instruct you in the way of making the prayer before you will take the holy bath to purify yourself.
At Gunung Kawi you will see the beautiful rice fields and the carved façade dating back to the 11th century. They are called the King's tombs, commemorating the Udayana Kingdom. Your guide will lead you on small rice field paths surrounding the complex.
Back at the Foundation, you will be served lunch at a beautiful spot amidst the rice fields surrounding the classrooms of the foundation. After lunch, you can witness or join in with the activities for the children and combine your program with the afternoon trek of Goa Gajah and Yeh Pulu (optional).
As you carve through some of Bali’s most appealing landscapes today, the Ayung River provides a thrill that begins the moment you push of from the riverbank. As you switch between Class I and II rapids, you will wind through deep valleys with cascading waterfalls and towering cliffs of prehistoric significance.
On the more leisurely stretches through tropical forests, you will see Hindu shrines that are brightly decorated on ceremonial days of prayer. Just as you think it is all coming to an end, the unpredictable Ayung River propels your raft into yet another rapid!
In the afternoon, you will be transferred to Belimbing where you can enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.
On today’s 4-hour hike, you will explore the rice plantations, vibrant rice fields and immaculate waterfalls that surround the hotel.
