Night 1
Hotel in North Creek
Spend the night at a comfortable 3 or 4-star hotel near the Adirondack Mountains.
Cycle in the peaceful beauty of the Adirondack lakes and mountains.
Spend 7 glorious days exploring one of the original vacation spots in the United States, the Adirondack Mountains! You’ll spend your days discovering peaceful lakes, charming mountain communities, and tranquil forests on this weeklong guided cycling adventure.
Starting from North Creek, you’ll take daily journeys into the rolling green mountains. Your trail will eventually lead you to Lake Placid, where you’ll have ample time to enjoy all that this area has to offer. Boat, hike, or just enjoy lounging after such exciting rides. It won’t be long before you’ve learned why people return to this beautiful outdoor retreat year after year. The Cycling the Adirondack Mountains tour sets an active pace, but you’ll be back at the water's edge in time to watch the sunset from your Adirondack chair each night.
Meet the group at the Albany airport where the shuttle will collect you and take you to North Creek.
Once you’re settled in at the hotel at the foot of Gore Mountain, you’ll have time to prepare your bike. Tonight the group will gather for a welcome and orientation dinner.
Today you’ll head out for your first ride of the trip. You’ll be biking through the gorgeous Adirondack Mountains, which have been a popular outdoor playground for New Yorkers since the 1800s.
The trail passes lakes, rivers, and summer cottages on your way to Inlet. This cottage town on Fourth Lake is where you’ll be spending the night.
The ride today starts with a loop around Fourth Lake before you head out to explore the rolling hills. A great place to take a break is the Adirondack Experience, which is a fascinating museum of local history at Blue Lake.
You’ll continue to cycle through forests and past many lakes until you arrive at Long Lake.
This morning you’ll head out on a ride past swimming holes, ski hills, campgrounds, and more. Feel free to stop and explore the community at Saranac Lake, which hosts many summer and winter visitors at its restaurants, galleries, and shops.
Lake Placid is only a short ride from Saranac Lake and will be your new home base for the next 3 nights.
The popular vacation destination of Lake Placid hosted the Winter Olympics in 1932 and 1980 and is now a renowned outdoor playground! Spend the day swimming, boating, hiking, or exploring the museums and restaurants in town.
Today’s ride will be an exciting one! As you make the loop around Whiteface Mountain you’ll see waterfalls, high gorges, river valleys, and even Santa’s Workshop, an amusement park built in the 40s.
If you feel like you still have some energy at the end of the ride, you can try cycling to the top of Whiteface at 1482 meters high. See you at the top!
This morning the group will leave Lake Placid and ride through the Schroon River Valley, which passes between Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains.
You’ll be picked up by the shuttle in the town of Schroon Lake and can choose to be dropped off in North Creek or at the Albany airport. Safe travels!

I’ve been using 10A route guides for a while, but had never booked a tour. My wife and I booked a self-guided hike in Greece and were so impressed with how we were able navigate the route without a guide with the detailed and easy to follow itinerary. We enjoy travelling independently, and 10A made that happen.

I’ve adventured around a lot of Canada and the US, but I’ve always wanted to explore other parts of the world. I felt a bit scared before booking my trip to Israel, but my conversations with the team at 10Adventures helped ease any worry. I can’t wait to explore more of the world!

Travel companies have had to go through a lot during the pandemic but 10Adventures were super flexible and accommodating nonetheless. I had to cancel my tour in France due to the pandemic. 10Adventures was great and let me reschedule for a later date!

Whenever I’m looking for my next adventure 10Adventures never fails. Their routes all over England are my main go to for exploring and I have only had great experiences booking both guided and self-guided trips in Europe and South America with them. I am looking into Africa next.

I just got back from backpacking in the Sierra Nevada, and WOW. What an unreal journey! The alpine meadows, waterfalls, and the lakeside camping spot were memorable highlights! I wonder what other tours 10Adventures has to offer. That one went so well that I am now convinced I need to book another!

I'm not a big fan of traveling because of my fear of flying, but my girlfriend convinced me to go on the Aurora Borealis Tour in the Yukon. I will never forget the mesmerizing northern lights. Such a romantic (and cold) getaway. I would highly recommend it.
