Arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Transfer to your hotel in the city centre. The rest of the day is free to enjoy and form your initial impressions of the city!
Kuala Lumpur is a vibrant metropolis, striking for its remarkable cultural diversity. Ethnic Malays, Chinese prospectors, Indian migrants and British colonials all helped carve the city out of the virgin jungle, and each group has left its indelible mark on the capital.
After breakfast, this morning, meet your representative in the lobby and prepare for a magical day of adventures. Today you’ll visit the Thean Hou Chinese Temple, Batu Caves, and the Pewter Factory.
Thean Hou Temple is one of the largest Chinese temples in South-East Asia and is located on top of Robson Hill. This temple belongs to the Malaysian Chinese community in Malaysia and public donations made it possible to open the temple in 1989. This is a spectacular place and a first-class example of the beauty of Chinese architecture. Thean Hou Temple is a perfect place to just sit down and relax and watch the majestic Kuala Lumpur skyline behind the spectacular pagoda roofs of the temple.
Batu Caves is an iconic and popular tourist attraction in Selangor. The site of a Hindu temple and shrine, Batu Caves attracts thousands of worshippers and tourists, especially during the annual Hindu festival, Thaipusam. A limestone outcrop located just north of Kuala Lumpur, Batu Caves has three main caves featuring temples and Hindu shrines. Its main attraction is the large statue of the Hindu God at the entrance, besides a steep 272 climb up its steps to finally view the stunning skyline of the city centre.
Finish today with a tour of the fascinating Pewter Factory.
Enjoy another delicious breakfast this morning before setting out to explore further. A great way to spend the day is with a day trip to the historic town of Melaka, located 2.5 hours south of Kuala Lumpur. Melaka is strategically located along the Straits of Malacca. Due to its ideal location, Melaka was home to the British, Portuguese, and Dutch, all of which contributed and influenced the unique culture of the Baba Nyonyas. The town is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and on this trip, you will visit many of the historical landmarks such as Porta de Santiago (a fortress built by the Portuguese in 1511 and the ruins of St. Paul’s Church (built in 1521). You will also visit the famous Red Square, with the Stadhyus and Christ Church.
A trip to Melaka is not complete without a stroll along Jonker Street with its brightly coloured shops and vendors on both sides of the road peddling their wares, ranging from cheap souvenirs to hand-crafted Baba Nyonya shoes. Lunch is included in this trip. Return back to Kuala Lumpur at the end of the day and overnight in Kuala Lumpur.
Today, you continue on to Cameron Highlands, located at 1,542 metres above sea level and famed for its tea plantations, strawberry farms and cool temperatures. The drive is approximately 3.5 hours on the well-paved highway and country roads. As you head higher into the highlands, wonderful views of the rainforests unfold as you climb higher and higher.
Upon arrival, check-in and the rest of the day is free at your leisure to enjoy Cameron Highlands.
This morning, you will depart on an exploratory tour of Cameron Highlands. In the colonial days, Cameron Highlands was a highland retreat for the British. Your tour begins with a visit to Mount Brinchang, the highest peak in Cameron Highlands. Take a walk through the mossy rainforest before cruising down the hill to view the most scenic tea plantation, the Sungai Palas Boh estate, which is regarded as the largest and best-known tea station in the region. You will cruise through the ‘green carpets’ of Boh plantations – the pioneer of tea growers in Malaysia. Take a tea break after the brief guided tour of the Boh tea factory. After the refreshing tea break, enjoy an optional visit (not included) to the butterfly farm before returning to your hotel for some R&R.
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel in Cameron Highlands this morning. Your driver will meet you at your Cameron Highlands hotel for your transfer to the Royal Belum Rainforest. The drive is approximately 4 to 5 hours. After reaching Belum Rainforest, check-in and the rest of the day is free at your leisure.
Belum Valley is an area filled with exotic fauna and flora and rich national heritage. This morning, depart on a boat cruise for a tour of the Belum Valley. Trek in the jungle and, if you’re lucky, spot a Rafflesia in full bloom in the wilderness. The Rafflesia is the world’s largest flower that can grow to a diameter of 1-metre! Make a stop at a salt lick where you can hopefully spot one of Belum’s natives. Asiatic elephants, Malayan tigers and white-haired gibbons all call the rainforest home and many of them will stop by a salt lick for a ‘nutrition boost’.
Visit a waterfall and relax with a packed lunch and then have fun swimming in its cool refreshing waters deep in the 130-million-year-old jungle. Rest, relax and enjoy the ever-soothing influence of nature.
Today, your journey takes you to the Pearl of the Orient: Penang. After a relaxing breakfast, meet your driver and transfer to Penang. This drive is approximately 3.5 hours. En-route to Penang you will visit Bukit Merah – Orang Utan Island. The island, which is 35-acres in total is home to majestic orangutans who roam freely in their natural habitat. This Orang Utan Island is the only one of its kind in Peninsula Malaysia and it has met with much success in its goal in organizing programs and support for orangutan breeding, nurturing, relocation and rehabilitation.
Arrive at your hotel in Penang and enjoy the rest of the evening at your leisure.
Set out this morning to explore Penang on a half-day tour which will show you the different facets of the city. Visit the 4th longest Reclining Buddha in the world and the Botanical Gardens which offers lush green surroundings with a wide variety of tropical plants and birdlife. Visit the Kek Lok Si Temple built in 1904, the most beautiful and largest Buddha Temple Complex in Southeast Asia. Continue the tour to the heritage town of Penang, known as Georgetown. Return to the hotel to enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.
This morning set sail on a ferry to Langkawi. The ferry to Langkawi is about 2-3 hours in duration (timing will vary depending on sea and weather conditions). Once at Langkawi’s Kuah Jetty, proceed by coach/van to the resort. Once at your Langkawi resort, check-in and the rest of your day is free and easy. Chill by the beach or consider one of the numerous activities that can be found around Langkawi ranging from water sports such as jet skis and parasailing to other activities such as eagle-feeding.
Langkawi is synonymous with “Tropical Paradise”; swaying palms, the cool colour contrast of jungle green and ocean blue. A completely different scenario will be found during sunset, brilliant blood red, purple and golden mellow. The idyllic archipelago of Langkawi is comprised of 99 islands.
Away from the beaches, there are rural Malaysian Kampung, paddy fields and spectacular rainforest.
Enjoy another day in Langkawi, lazing on the beach or enjoying some activities you haven’t yet explored. Today is your final full day of the tour, so whatever you do, make sure to soak it up!
Final breakfast this morning in Langkawi before departure. Check out and transfer to the airport to depart.

I’ve been using 10Adventures route guides for a while, but had never booked a tour. My wife and I booked a self-guided hike in Greece and were so impressed with how we were able navigate the route without a guide with the detailed and easy to follow itinerary. We enjoy travelling independently, and 10Adventures made that happen.

I’ve adventured around a lot of Canada and the US, but I’ve always wanted to explore other parts of the world. I felt a bit scared before booking my trip to Israel, but my conversations with the team at 10Adventures helped ease any worry. I can’t wait to explore more of the world!

Travel companies have had to go through a lot during the pandemic but 10Adventures were super flexible and accommodating nonetheless. I had to cancel my tour in France due to the pandemic. 10Adventures was great and let me reschedule for a later date!

My wife Sarah and I had a great experience booking our 7-day cycling trip through Portugal via 10Adventures. The communication between us and Nadine leading up the trip was top-notch!

Whenever I’m looking for my next adventure 10Adventures never fails. Their routes all over England are my main go to for exploring and I have only had great experiences booking both guided and self-guided trips in Europe and South America with them. I am looking into Africa next.

I just got back from backpacking in the Sierra Nevada, and WOW. What an unreal journey! The alpine meadows, waterfalls, and the lakeside camping spot were memorable highlights! I wonder what other tours 10Adventures has to offer. That one went so well that I am now convinced I need to book another!

I'm not a big fan of traveling because of my fear of flying, but my girlfriend convinced me to go on the Aurora Borealis Tour in the Yukon. I will never forget the mesmerizing northern lights. Such a romantic (and cold) getaway. I would highly recommend it.
