Hike the amazing trails of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park
Explore the magnificent Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon National Park on this 6-day hiking tour. Expert guides will take you on some of the best hikes in the park, from the heights of Alta Peak to the giant sequoia forests.
This tour splits its time between two lodges so that you can focus on the trails nearby. The first half of your trip is spent exploring the lakes and mountain views, then you move closer to Grant’s Grove to wander the otherworldly sequoia forest, including some of the famous named trees in the park. You’ll feel sheltered, awestruck, and small (in the best way) under the shelter of some of the most incredible trees in North America on this fantastic hiking tour.
Today you’ll meet the group at the Fresno airport and take the shuttle to Sequoia. Your first hike will be from Lodgepole, traveling along the Marble Fork of the Kaweah River to Tokopah Falls. The final stretch is a quick boulder scramble to reach the bottom of this gorgeous waterfall that towers 1,200 feet above you.
The shuttle will drop you off at the Wolverton trailhead this morning, where you’ll begin your hike on the Lakes Trail. Look forward to walking along the Watchtower Ledge and visiting Heather and Emerald Lakes, crystal pools tucked in deep among the tall trees.
Today you’ll take on the impressive trail up Alta Peak. Standing at 11,204 feet over sea level, Alta Peak offers an intensely rewarding climb. From the top, you’ll have amazing views of the surrounding mountains all the way to Emerald Lake far below you.
Your trail today is Congress Trail, which explores the Giant Forest. On this route, you’ll see the amazing giant sequoia trees, including the famous General Sherman Tree, which is the largest single stem tree on the planet!
You’ll continue hiking to Crescent Meadow, followed by a climb to the amazing lookout at the top of Moro Rock. This evening you’ll move to your new hotel near Grants Village.
The destination today is Kings Canyon. You’ll start your hike from the Roads End trailhead and walk along the Kings River. Follow the water all the way to beautiful Mist Falls before crossing the river at Bubbs Creek to begin the return hike.
The final day of your tour will be a busy one! Begin your day with a hike up the ridge to Big Baldy, where you’ll have expansive views over the park below.
From Big Baldy, you’ll visit the sequoia trees in Grant Grove, including the 1,500 year old “General Grant” tree. What a treat! Finally, the shuttle will return you to Fresno where your tour finishes.

I’ve been using 10A route guides for a while, but had never booked a tour. My wife and I booked a self-guided hike in Greece and were so impressed with how we were able navigate the route without a guide with the detailed and easy to follow itinerary. We enjoy travelling independently, and 10A made that happen.

I’ve adventured around a lot of Canada and the US, but I’ve always wanted to explore other parts of the world. I felt a bit scared before booking my trip to Israel, but my conversations with the team at 10Adventures helped ease any worry. I can’t wait to explore more of the world!

Travel companies have had to go through a lot during the pandemic but 10Adventures were super flexible and accommodating nonetheless. I had to cancel my tour in France due to the pandemic. 10Adventures was great and let me reschedule for a later date!

Whenever I’m looking for my next adventure 10Adventures never fails. Their routes all over England are my main go to for exploring and I have only had great experiences booking both guided and self-guided trips in Europe and South America with them. I am looking into Africa next.

I just got back from backpacking in the Sierra Nevada, and WOW. What an unreal journey! The alpine meadows, waterfalls, and the lakeside camping spot were memorable highlights! I wonder what other tours 10Adventures has to offer. That one went so well that I am now convinced I need to book another!

I'm not a big fan of traveling because of my fear of flying, but my girlfriend convinced me to go on the Aurora Borealis Tour in the Yukon. I will never forget the mesmerizing northern lights. Such a romantic (and cold) getaway. I would highly recommend it.
