Route Description for Blanktjärnsrundan

The Blanktjärnsrundan hike starts in front of the parking lot by the "Vålådalen mountainstation". The hike meanders through a birch forest and over a bridge with really clear water. You will reach a beautiful view point with lakes and mountains. The trail continues over brooks, meadows and mires and there is good chance to see reindeer!

Along the sides of the path you will notice small history boards. These history boards tell you about the farmers who worked and lived here. After a small hill you will find views and finally reach the turquoise water of Blanktjarn. Along the lakeshore there are firepits, wind shelters, and toilets.

You can return the way you came or continue along the lake shore for 0.5 km and return on a path that goes back over mires, fir forest and many brooks.

• Over the road there is a free nature museum "Naturum" which tells you about the history of the Sapmi people in the area, nature in Vålådalen and, many other things. Well worth a visit!
• Vålådalens mountain station has a restaurant, hotel and tourist information. There is a really nice waffle buffét at 12 o´clock! Yes, a waffle buffet!
• If you want to cool down there is a nice beach “Nulltjärn” just 5 min car drive from the parking lot. Follow the yellow sign “Nulltjärnsgården” to the left and drive all way and you will end up in a big parking lot. Park the car there and walk 100 m to the beach.
