    Jura Creek Trail is a scenic route near the town of Canmore. It features a 150 m-200 m long slot canyon and options for a longer trip. It sees much less traffic than nearby Grotto and Cougar Canyons, making it a fine choice, especially on a weekend. The trail is quite rocky with rolling elevation gain, making it a great beginner to intermediate route.

    Route Description for Jura Creek Trail

    Jura Creek Trail is a straightforward and easy to follow route just outside of Canmore. This quiet trail is easy to follow as it leads up a canyon and reaches an easy slot canyon. The slot canyon section is an exciting 150 m-200 m segment that makes a great feature for children. The trail can stay icy into the spring, so it is a good idea to always be prepared for slippery sections where there might be water normally. Enjoy this simple trail that is easy to follow with groups of all abilities.

    Getting to the Jura Creek Trail Trailhead

    To get to Jura Creek Trail from Canmore, take Highway 1A eastbound, passing the turn for Grotto Canyon. Continue for roughly 5.0 km to the Jura Creek parking area, which is well signed.
