Route Description for Ashridge Estate and Northchurch Circular
The Ashridge Estate and Northchurch Circular takes you on a lovely 12.9 km loop through the Chilterns, passing by a montage of scenery: woodland, parkland, commonland, grassland, and nature reserves. The wildflowers in this area will add a layer of beauty to your walk! Setting out from the car park, walk away from the pub—and keep it in mind when you get back to your car—passing by the turn for Church Road and veer into the woods beside the Lady Marian Alford Memorial. From here, you’ll begin your loop through woodland and countryside scenery! When you get back to your car, don’t forget to stop for a pint at the Bridgewater Arms.
Getting to the Ashridge Estate and Northchurch Circular Trailhead
To get to the start of the Ashridge Estate and Northchurch Circular from Ivinghoe, follow Beacon Road before turning left onto B4506 and take a quick right and drive until you reach Bridgewater Arms. Park in the lot directly across the street!
