Route Description for Captains Wood Walk
The Captains Wood Walk is a fantastic family-friendly, dog-friendly walk that immerses you in the varied scenery stretching across the Chilterns. Expect to see a fusion of undulating countryside views and wooded areas! From your car, set out towards Captains Wood, and since this is a lollipop route, you’ll get to enjoy this woodland when you return as well. After Captains Wood, the loop section of your walk begins, taking you left through a field towards Widmore Wood. After relishing in this woodland, you’ll head right at the next junction, emerging at the top of the circuit. Continue straight before taking the second right-hand turn, which will lead you back to Captains Wood and to your car, where your walk began
Getting to the Captains Wood Walk Trailhead
To get to the start of the Captain Woods Walk, follow Hivings Hill to the roundabout and continue straight to reach Mount Nugent. After 58 m, take a left onto a restricted usage road. Take another left after 47 m and follow the road to the end.
