    The Roundup, Mesa, and Quarry Pass Hike is a great route to experience the Red Rock Open Space. Wander through the red-hued bluffs and revel in epic vistas of the Front Range summits that line the horizon. Suitable for hikers of all skill levels and ages, this hike is a must-do!

    Route Description for Roundup, Mesa, and Quarry Pass Hike

    The Roundup, Mesa, and Quarry Pass Hike is an awesome escape into nature, away from the hustle and bustle of the real world. The well-maintained paths through the park deliver awe-inspiring views of the red-colored sandstone outcrops, bluffs, and sculptures that adorn the terrain. Kids and adults alike will love exploring the open space! Note that this is a popular destination, so you will likely be in the company of fellow adventurers! Additionally, the red rocks radiate the heat in the summer months, so head out in the morning or pack plenty of water!

    Departing from the Sand Canyon Trailhead, the Roundup, Mesa, and Quarry Pass Hike follows the Sand Canyon Trail southwest. Soon after you depart, you will confront an intersection, keep right here, and you will be diverted along the Contemplative Trail. Follow this path lined with a red rock bluff on one side, and on the other, enjoy distant views of Pikes Peak. At the route’s end, take the Mesa Trail south, gradually climbing and eventually curving east. At the route’s end, take the Roundup Trail before diverting north along the Red Rock Canyon Trail.

    Follow this route until you reach an intersection with the Quarry Pass Trail. Here, stay left, hiking the trail through the Lyons Sandstone Quarry. Revel in the grandeur and structure of the red rock bluff and continue tracking the Quarry Pass Trail northwest. Soon you will merge onto the rightmost Mesa Trail, which will deliver you back to the trailhead.
