Route Description for Seven Bridges and Trail 666 Loop
Immerse yourself in the fantastic wilderness along the Seven Bridges and Trail 666 Loop. This amazing adventure will challenge you with the perfect amount of strenuosity while keeping you motivated with beautiful views. Note sections of this trail are more primitive than others, and while unlikely to divert off the path, the trail GPS may prove helpful. Additionally, sections of the path are exposed, which warrant epic views and changing conditions, so consider wearing layers as insurance!
Departing from the Gold Camp Trailhead, track the Gold Camp Road west. Soon you will reach a metal gate. Pass through the gate and trail the trail signposted as Trail 622, the Seven Bridges Trail. Hike this path through the North Cheyenne Canyon, over seven bridges. Enjoy the corridor bounded by orange-hued rocks, and at the route’s end, turn right onto the North Seven Bridges Spur Trail. Track this path north and at the next junction, turn right, and you will be diverted onto the 666 Trail (Captain Jack’s Trail). Wander east and enjoy views of the Garden of the Gods and Red Rocks Canyon Park.
Admire the sights of the towering pines and at the next intersection, take a sharp right turn down the Mount Buckhorn Trail southwest. This path will deliver you back to the metal gate. Here, head east along the Gold Camp Road back to the trailhead.
