Route Description for Bisse du Tsittoret Extended Hike
Setting out from the trailhead, the Bisse du Tsittoret Extended Hike will lead you uphill from Vermala, providing an immediate workout! Take in the scenic views of the surrounding mountain peaks and make sure to stop at the Colombire hamlet, where you will learn all about the mayen, a building typical to the Valais region that served as a high altitude home for shepherds who brought their flocks up to pasture in the alpine landscape.
Climbing further uphill, you will discover the Tièche Valley, which provides beautiful views of the surrounding area. From here, the Bisse du Tsittoret Extended Hike will take you on a short loop, before heading back downhill to the starting point of your adventure.
Getting to the Bisse du Tsittoret Extended Hike Trailhead
To reach Crans-Montana by car, take the exit of the A9 motorway (Rhône motorway) called "Sierre ouest". At the motorway exit, turn left and follow the signs for "Sierre". At the roundabout, turn right. Continue for 500 m, then at the entrance to Sierre, turn left following the signs for "Crans-Montana". The journey time is about 25 minutes. Once you arrive in Crans-Montana, follow the directions to Vermala.
