Route Description for Umborne Brook Loop
Walking the Umborne Brook Loop is a fairly secluded walking route in Devon that is popular thanks to its charming countryside setting. Setting out from the trailhead, you will head to the southwest and descend the hillside, entering into the peaceful forest and crossing over Umborne Brook. From here, you will loop around to the northwest, exiting the cover of the forest before heading east to once again cross over the brook. From here, you will climb uphill to the east before turning south on the final leg across the open countryside to return to the trailhead.
Getting to the Umborne Brook Loop Trailhead
To reach the trailhead for the Umborne Brook Loop from the village of Upottery, head east on Sandy’s Lane for 1.6 km and turn right onto A30. After 30 m, turn left onto Stockland Hill and follow it for 2.6 km before turning right. Continue on for 0.5 km to reach the trailhead.
