The Othello Tunnels via Kettle Valley Trail is a great half-day hike that enters Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park from the west to take hikers to the old rail tunnels that were blasted into the rocky landscape. The tunnels are closed seasonally during the winter months due to unsafe conditions, but a good portion of the trail is still available for use. This hiking route follows along the Kettle Valley Trail as it meanders alongside the rushing waters of the Coquihalla River. To get to the trailhead for the Othello Tunnels via Kettle Valley Trail from Hope, drive northeast on Kawkawa Lake Road for 1.7 km and turn right onto Kettle Valley Road. In 750 m the road will end where the trailhead begins.
