Route Description for Fish Creek Trail
The Fish Creek Hike is a wonderful adventure to get the whole family out into nature. Hike through the forested terrain, along Fish Creek and to a meadow. The initial grade of the trail is intense, but don't get discouraged. The path will eventually plateau as you make your way to the plains. This path packs just the perfect amount of elevation gain to get your steps in. Travel through the Comanche Peak Wilderness and escape the frequented trails of the Rocky Mountain National Park.
From the trailhead, the Fish Creek Hike follows a winding dirt road. Cross the creek and begin hiking up the forested path. Enjoy the towering pines and secluded nature of the adventure. Hike along the trail as it nears a small stream. The meditative sounds of the babbling creek will lull you into a relaxed trance as you track along the route. Continue walking the path as it becomes increasingly exposed, and you meet an intersection.
When you confront the junction, you have met your turnaround point. If you wish to lengthen your journey, you can maintain along the Fish Creek Trail and travel down along the stream's edge. If you are set to return, backtrack along the route.
