Route Description for Cobalt Lake Trail
The Cobalt Lake Trail is a hike that is highly recommended and will not disappoint. The trail is filled with roaring waterfalls, colorful wildflowers, cool gray mountain peaks and stunning lakes. At the beginning of the Cobalt Lake Trailhead, you will immediately be blown away. The trailhead view is spectacular and features Painted Tepee Peak, Sinopah Mountain, Lone Walker Mountain and Mount Helen surrounding Two Medicine Lake, which is a stunning backdrop to the beginning of your hike.
After taking in all of the beauty, head into the trail and 0.8 km into the hike, you will stumble upon a number of beaver ponds that are prime moose spotting territory. Continuing on, at 1.8 km, you will see a stunning waterfall, Aster Falls and Aster Overlook. At 5.6 km, you will cross a footbridge and will find yourself at the base of Rockwell Falls. The next highlight is Cobalt Lake, where you will face a steep incline. Once you have reached the end, turn around and head back the way you came.
Getting to the Cobalt Lake Trail Trailhead
To get to Cobalt Lake Trailhead from the Two Medicine General Store, head East on Two Medicine Road and take your two first rights. You will arrive at the Cobalt Lake Trailhead.Route Information
