Route Description for Jumbo Pass Trail
Hiking the Jumbo Pass Trail is a breathtaking experience in the Invermere area that will expose you to some truly stunning views of the rugged alpine terrain. While the road up to the trailhead is fairly treacherous and includes a small stream crossing, the trail itself more than makes up for it and is a moderate climb up into the mountains.
The lower portions of the hike pass through a beautiful stretch of forest with a mix of rocky/root-covered terrain before breaking out into the alpine and offering spectacular views. Reaching the top of the trail, hikers will find a cabin located next to a small alpine lake. Take some time to explore the area and soak in the dramatic views of surrounding mountains that include the Ochre and Squabble Peaks to the southwest before heading back down the trail for the rough and rugged car ride home.
