Route Description for Convict Lake Loop Trail
As the Convict Lake Loop Trail is a popular route within Inyo National Forest, it can become rather crowded at certain times of the year. We therefore suggest starting the route earlier in the morning so as to avoid the midday crowds that often congregate.
The Convict Lake Loop Trail itself is incredibly straightforward. The trail travels around the shoreline of Convict Lake, and can be completed in either direction. The route intermittently travels along Convict Lake Road, before veering onto the designated trail. Having completed the circuit around the lake, you will arrive back at the parking lot, and your waiting vehicle.
