Route Description for Cavell Lake
The walk to Cavell Lake is an easy hike to do if you’re heading up to the other walks at Cavell Meadows, and this is also the starting point to hikes into the Tonquin Valley.
Park alongside the road, but make sure not to park in the Youth Hostels parking lot. From here, find the trail and walk down a hill until you come to a bridge.
At the bridge you can enjoy wonderful views of Cavell Lake and the surrounding mountains, and also explore a bit on a dirt trail that goes a short distance around Cavell Lake.
Return the way you came.

Getting to the Cavell Lake Trailhead
From Jasper, head south on Highway 93. After 6.5 km turn right onto Highway 93A, signed for either Marmot Basin or Mount Edith Cavell. After 5.2 km turn right and begin the ascent up to the Tonquin Valley Parking Lot. Park across from the Youth Hostel in a roadside parking lot.
