Route Description for Arch Rock Nature Trail

Being both easily accessible and scenic, the Arch Rock Nature Trail is a popular route in Joshua Tree National Park and, therefore, can become rather crowded at certain times throughout the year. For those looking for a more secluded hiking experience, it is suggested they do the trail during less busy times of the year or skip it altogether in favor of a less accessible trail.
That being said, this is a perfect trail if you're looking for a more casual hike the entire family can enjoy. Relatively short and with little elevation fluctuation, the Arch Rock Nature Trail attracts people from all over who come to take pictures alongside its characteristic arch.

The Arch Rock Hike begins at the southern end of the parking lot. From here, follow the trail a few hundred feet south until you reach the road. After crossing the road, continue to follow the trail east through relatively flat desert terrain until you reach a trail junction. From here, the trail loops back on itself, and going either right or left will bring you to Arch Rock.
Once you have admired the beauty of Arch Rock and taken some pictures, continue on the trail that you arrived on. From here, the trail will bring you back to the junction you had previously passed, and all you need to do is backtrack your way towards the parking lot.
