Route Description for Crest View Trail
As the Crest View Trail is within the desert environment of Joshua Tree National Park, it is important that you prepare yourself for the desert conditions. We recommend bringing lots of water with you, as it is rare to nonexistent throughout the route. We also recommend wearing sunscreen and a good hat to help protect you from the effects of the sun.
Having arrived at the trailhead, follow the Covington Crest Trail south. The route continues on relatively straight for its entirety, gaining little elevation as it goes. The Crest View Trail ends at a beautiful vista where incredible views of the surrounding Joshua Tree National Park landscape can be enjoyed. Once you have taken in the views, backtrack your steps towards the trailhead.
