Hiking the Mandeville Canyon Trail is an epic experience in Los Angeles that will take you through the mountainous landscape northwest of the city. While out on the trail, you will continuously climb further uphill through the exposed terrain, all the while taking in the scenic views that grow more beautiful with each step. This is an extremely popular hiking route in the L.A. area that sees high volumes of foot traffic during peak hours; be sure to arrive early to secure a space and enjoy some solitude on the trail.
Route Description for Mandeville Canyon Trail
Featuring nearly constant uphill terrain and beautifully scenic views overlooking Los Angeles, the Mandeville Canyon Trail is an exceptional adventure that will make you work for your reward… but not too hard! Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way north along the trail as it climbs uphill along the ridge. For those who want a bit of a smoother path, there is also a fire service road that runs parallel to the trail. Take your time to appreciate the sweeping views along the trail, following it until you arrive at its end point atop San Vicente Mountain. Here, you can pause for a rest and refill your water, before heading back along the same route to return to the trailhead where you began.Getting to the Mandeville Canyon Trail Trailhead
