The Laguna Torre and Cerro Torre Viewpoint Hike is a breathtaking adventure in Los Glaciares National Park that will produce some epic views of the iconic Cerro Torre. While out hiking the trail you will work your way uphill alongside the winding banks of the Río Fitz Roy, before arriving at the shores of the Lake and enjoying the views of the surrounding mountain peaks. Hikers should take note that this trail is not overly difficult; however, the overall distance of the trail can make it a bit more on the challenging side.

Route Description for Laguna Torre and Cerro Torre Viewpoint Hike

If you plan on visiting Los Glaciares to take in the incredible Patagonian landscape, then the Laguna Torre and Cerro Torre Hike is a must! While not overly difficult, this long route features plenty of incredible viewpoints throughout, culminating in the Mirador Maestri with gorgeous views of Cerro Torre!

Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way southwest towards the banks of the Río Fitz Roy. Fairly quickly you will find yourself at the Mirador Cascada Margarita, which offers a scenic view of the surrounding landscape.

Continuing on to the west, you will traverse the undulating landscape and skirt around the base of a small hill, just before arriving at the Mirador Cerro Torre. Some travellers are content with taking in the views from this scenic vantage point; however, the trail continues much further west for a more up close and personal view.

After passing the viewpoint the trail follows a route parallel to the Río Fitz Roy, climbing gently uphill through a valley to reach the shores of Laguna Torre. Heading left at the fork here, you can explore the shoreline up to the Tirolesa Crossing before turning back to the junction.

Once there, continue along the shoreline and follow the path as it climbs up the moraine to the Mirador Maestri. This breathtaking viewpoint is well worth the effort it takes to get there, as you will be treated with an incredible view of Cerro Torre, Laguna Torre, and the Torre Glacier.

After revelling in the views, turn back along the path and follow it back to the junction by the water’s edge. Once there, turn left and retrace your steps to return to the trailhead where you began your adventure. If you are after another epic hike in Los Glaciares, consider checking out the nearby Laguna Capri Hike.
