Route Description for Feather Creek Long Loop Hike

Hidden beneath the tree canopy of mature pines and cedars, you will find the Feather Creek Long Loop. While the majority of this route travels through the lush, shaded woodlands, there is a brief segment that travels near the creek basin where the mosquitos are relentless—so pack plenty of bug repellent! Additionally, as this route is shared with mountain bikers, it is important to be mindful of passers-by! Bring plenty of water, and get ready to quench your thirst for adventure!

Embark on your journey along the Feather Creek Long Loop from the trailhead off the National Forest Development Road 789. Setting out from here, you will be led over a footbridge atop Feather Creek before confronting an intersection. Here, veer right and the Feather Creek Trail to another junction. Keeping right, you will be diverted onto the Feather Creek Trail (Long Loop). Beyond this point, the trail will climb northwardly below the tree canopy, boasting an enchanting ambiance. Marvel in the beauty of the towering pines, and you navigate the winding route through the backcountry.

After some hiking, the path will reroute you southwardly, gently descending through the woodlands. Eventually, you will confront an intersection, veer left, and follow the Feather Creek Trail (Short Loop) back to the bridge. From here, cross the bridge and head back to the parking lot.

Note those seeking a shorter version of this incredible hike should check out the Feather Creek Short Loop.
