Route Description for Scotch Gill Woods Walk
At only 1.1 km, the Scotch Gill Woods Walk certainly won’t take up much of your time, but it will provide you with a tranquil stretch of forest to explore. In addition to the mature forest, you will also be able to stroll along the peaceful banks of the River Wansbeck, making for a relaxing adventure for all skill levels.
Setting out from the car park, you will pick up the footpath leading to the northwest and enter into the dense cover of the forest. Here, you will make your way uphill while taking in the natural beauty of woodlands, keeping left to avoid straying away from the forest.
After following the path downhill to the southwest, you will arrive at the banks of the River Wansbeck and make a sharp left to follow it to the east. Take your time here as you revel in the lovely riverside atmosphere, before arriving back at the car park where you began your adventure in Scotch Gill Woods.
