Route Description for Muddy Hollow and Coast Trail Loop
As you hike this route you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the pristine beaches that stretch along the coast. If you are seeking a relaxing day-hike in the Point Reyes National Seashore, then you have found your match. Admire the diversity of flora and fauna while getting your steps in. Due to the route’s proximity to the sea, you can expect windy and foggy conditions, so dress accordingly!
Embark on your adventure along the Muddy Hollow and Coast Trail from the trailhead off Muddy Hollow Road. From here, the Muddy Hollow Trail will lead you down past drainage to Limantour Beach. Explore the sandy beach and admire the coastal views as you wander east to an intersection. At the junction with the Coast Trail, you will turn left to hike north.
Continuing through wetlands and marshes, you will ultimately reach the Muddy Hollow Road. Turn left here and wander along the shoulder of the road back to the trailhead and car park.

The trailhead is located off Muddy Hollow Road.
