This route boasts a more secluded experience—which we love. Navigate countless tiring switchbacks, and you will ultimately be rewarded with a lush redwood grove. Note the terrain is vertiginous, so be sure to wear a comfy pair of footwear and pack plenty of water to stay hydrated! Additionally, as this route is located near the coast, it is prone to fog and rainier conditions—so be sure to check the forecast and dress accordingly!

Setting out from the Davison Trailhead off Redwood Highway, the Berry Glen and Lady Bird Grove Hike travel south along the Berry Trail. The initial segment of the route may seem daunting, but don’t worry; the terrain will eventually plateau. Navigating several switchbacks through the lush forest, the path will eventually redirect you more eastwardly. The incline is more gradual from here on out, demanding only one more switchback before entering the Lady Bird Grove.

Take the time to explore the prolific grove atop the hill, and if time permits, complete the circuit through the forest. When you are through admiring the impressive redwoods, retrace your footing back along the path to the trailhead.
