Route Description for Bell Canyon Lower Falls via Boulders Trailhead
The Bell Canyon Lower Falls Trail is an excellent challenge for moderately experienced, and experienced hikers. This trail can get icy and treacherous in the winter, so we recommend wearing traction devices, such as microspikes, if you're heading out at that time of year. The trail up to the waterfalls is very steep, so proper footwear is essential and hiking poles are strongly recommended. You will also want to bring the camera along with you, as the views of the waterfall are absolutely stunning!
From the trailhead, follow the path east to Lower Bell Canyon Reservoir. Take a left to follow the path around the reservoir, then continue eastward along the trail – you can loop around the other side of the reservoir on your return trip. Follow the path along the creek and over the bridge, then keep heading eastward. About 2.3 km past the reservoir you will see a spur trail leading north; take this path a short distance to the Lower Falls.
Catch your breath and enjoy a rest at the Lower Falls, before heading back to the main trail. You can follow the path back exactly the way you came or take a left at the reservoir to loop around the other side before rejoining the route back to the trailhead.
