Embark on your adventure along the Beaver Lake Trail from the Beaver Creek Ski Resort Parking Structure. From here, head south along the Elk Track Road. This route will guide you past several charming buildings of the ski village and will intersect with several chairlifts. Enjoy the hustle and bustle of the resort and revel in the sights of intrepid skiers before confronting the Turquoise Lake Trailhead at the end of the Elk Track Road.

From the trailhead, the path will near the gurgling waters of the Beaver Creek as it guides hikers along a ski run. Check out the snowboarder and skiers and continue trekking south. There will be several intersecting and merging trails as you progress; ignore these. Soon the path will divert you beneath the timberline. Enjoy the tree shade of the towering aspens and evergreens as you hike along the old wagon road. As you near the lake, the terrain will become increasingly rocky and steep, and you will soon wander through a meadow. From the exposed terrain, enjoy views of the encompassing snow-capped peaks.

Eventually, you will enter the boundary into the Holy Cross Wilderness, and shortly after, you will be delivered to Beaver Lake. Explore the shores of the shimmering alpine lake and rejuvenate your tired feet in the chilly waters. Flanked by cliffs overwhelmed with evergreens, the lake is a pretty sight. On a calm day, you can even see the reflection of the cliffs and surrounding mountains on the waters. Rest along the lake’s shore and when you are ready, retrace your footing back to the trailhead and carpark. If you still have some gas left in the tank, consider continuing along the path to the Turquoise Lakes.
