Hemlock Falls Trail

The Hemlock Falls Trail is a short adventure in Umpqua National Forest, Oregon that will take you through a lush stretch of forest terrain to a waterfall. While out on the trail, you will hike past mature trees and verdant ferns to reach the 24 m waterfall along Hemlock Creek. This is a fun little trail to explore if you are camping nearby at the lake in the Woods Campground.

Route Description for Hemlock Falls Trail
For such a short route, the Hemlock Falls Trail sure is packed full of beautiful scenery! For anyone wanting to experience the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest and its stunning waterfalls, then this is the route for you.
Setting out from the trailhead at the Lake in the Woods Campground, you will make your way to the southwest, keeping right at a fork in the trail to continue through the tree cover to the banks to Hemlock Creek. Along the way you will have some amazing views of moss-covered rock formations, towering trees, and the lush floor of the temperate rainforest.
Eventually, you will arrive at the impressive site of Hemlock Falls with its gushing waters that plunge 80ft into a pool below. Take some time to explore the area, before heading back along the same trail to return to the campground.
Getting to the Hemlock Falls Trail Trailhead
The starting point for this hike can be found at the Lake in the Woods Campground on FS 27.
