Illahee Lookout Trail

The Illahee Lookout Trail is a short and sweet adventure that offers stunning views of the surrounding Oregon landscape. While out hiking the trail, you will work your way uphill through some lightly wooded terrain, enjoying the views overlooking Umpqua National Forest as you approach the Illahee Lookout tower. Some sections of the trail are a bit overgrown, but there is still a clear path visible; wear appropriate clothing.

Route Description for Illahee Lookout Trail
For the minimal amount of effort required to hike this route, the Illahee Lookout Trail is a fantastic path that offers exceptional views of Umpqua National Forest.
Setting out from the trailhead at the edge of NF-100, you will make your way to the southwest along the edge of the treeline. The trail isn’t very long, so be sure to take your time and enjoy the scenic vies.
In no time at all you will find yourself at the Illahee Lookout Tower, from which you will enjoy a panoramic sightline of the surrounding mountains and forests. After taking in the views, simply turn back along the same trail to return to your starting point.
Getting to the Illahee Lookout Trail Trailhead
The trailhead for the Illahee Lookout Trail can be found along NF-100, just northeast of the junction with Forest Road 4760.
