Domke Lake Trail leads you 8.4 km above Lake Chelan to the secluded shores of Domke Lake, where people splash their feet, settle in to camp, and toss down their picnics. This hike is mostly uphill and not suitable for young children. You can take the ferry to Lucerne and plan your stay around the boat schedules.
Route Description for Domke Lake Trail
Domke Lake is a serene spot, a blue gem nestled above the shores of Lake Chelan. The hike to get there is a bit steep but well worth it, especially if you’re camping on the shores of the lake. This hike isn’t very well-suited to young children due to the elevation gain, but most other adventurers should be able to complete it.
Beginning from the trailhead, hike left through the first junction and then begin following the meandering switchbacks up the hill. Where the trail splits, stay right. At the next split, go left. The climb up is a bit tiring, but just look back at the constantly improving views of Lake Chelan if you need a break. You’ll arrive at the shore, where the trail extends as far as Stuart Campground. When you’re ready, return on the same route you arrived on.
