    The Big White Mountain Peak Trail is a 2.3 km out-and-back hiking route that will take you up to the summit of the mountain for some spectacular views overlooking Rhonda Lake and the Big White Mountain Ecological Reserve. Due to the fairly easy terrain and short distance of this hike, this is a great option for families looking to get out into the mountains and experience the trails with young children. This hike is only accessible during the summer months when the resort is not being used for skiing.

    Route Description for Big White Mountain Peak Trail

    Hiking the Big White Mountain Peak Trail is an amazing, family-friendly adventure that will allow you to explore a scenic mountain-top lookout without the hazards or commitment of hiking up a more challenging summit. For starters, hikers can access the trailhead via the Bullet Express chairlift or by hiking up the mountain to start their journey with some extra elevation gain and distance. Once at the trailhead, the route climbs steadily uphill through the picturesque alpine terrain to the summit, where you will enjoy spectacular views overlooking the ski resort, Rhona Lake, and the Big White Mountain Ecological Reserve. With easy-to-navigate terrain, beautiful wildflowers, and scenic views, this is an amazing way to summit your first mountain peak.

    Getting to the Big White Mountain Peak Trail Trailhead

    To access the trailhead for the Big White Mountain Peak Trail from Kelowna, head east on BC-97 for 4.0 km and turn right to take the exit for BC-33 E. Continue on for 33.1 km and turn left onto Big White Road. After 22.4 km, you will arrive at the Big White Ski Resort. Take the Bullet Express chairlift to reach the trailhead.
