Route Description for Clear Creek Trail
The Clear Creek Hike is a wonderful day-hike on the west of the Wind River Range that hikers of most skill levels and ages should be able to manage. While this route exhibits a diversity of flora and fauna, it's the dumbfounding mountain views that draw the crowds. Head out in the early morning or in the evening for a more tranquil experience! Note that the bugs are relentless in this area, so make sure you pack bug spray. While unlikely, bear encounters are possible, so make sure at least one person in your group carries bear spray. Your epic adventure begins from the Lakeside Trailhead off Green River Lakes Road. Setting out from here, you will take the leftmost branch of the Lakeside Trail, which will quickly lead you across a footbridge to an intersection. Here, veer right, and you will be diverted onto the Clear Creek Trail. Note the Highline Trail runs parallel to this route, so you can take either route—though we followed the Clear Creek Trail. Traversing through a meadow and sparse tree stands, you will be granted impressive views of the encompassing granite crests. After some hiking, you will reach another junction, keep left here, and the Clear Creek Trail will divert you east, running along the meandering stream. Revel in the scene of the looming granite bluffs that bound the corridor as you make your way further into the wilderness. When you ultimately reach the trail's end, turn around, and retrace your footing back to the trailhead.Getting to the Clear Creek Trail Trailhead
