Route Description for Elklund Lake Hike
Immerse yourself in the alpine terrain along the Elklund Lake Hike. This demanding adventure offers motivating views while providing a great workout! Though unlikely, all types of exploration in the area warrant the possibility of bear encounters, so make sure at least one person in your party carries a can of bear spray! While the exposed terrain along the path offers incredible views, it also warrants extreme weather conditions, so check the forecast and dress accordingly!
Your journey to Elklund Lake begins from the Pole Creek Trailhead. Setting out from here, path will gradually climb along Faler Creek. Wandering through the mixed pine woodlands, you will encounter several intersections, but maintain along the Pole Creek Trail. The further you climb into the wilderness, the more exposed the terrain will become, boasting wonderful mountainscape views. Take your time at Photographers Point before continuing onwards towards Elklund Lake.
After some hiking, you will ultimately reach the shoreline of Elklund Lake. Marvel in the scene of the surrounding mountainous landscape, then head back the way you came, all the way to the trailhead.
